Sponsorship

The Childrenaid of Swiss red cross in Switzerland organized sponsorships, whereby "sponsor" obligated himself to the payment of 10 sfr monthly for 6 months. These 10 sfr were dedicated for shipment of a monthly foods-package to a needy and undernourished child in Austria.

These foods - packages contained among other things honey, chocolate, fruitbread, fish,Ovomaltine,... Until end of 1946 22.713 packages were submitted. Because the sponsor as well as the child knew the address of the other part, sometimes a personal relationship and friendship developed.

The Childrenaid of Swiss red cross delivered 17.986 kg clothes and shoes to Vienna and Lower Austria (Niederösterreich). Medicines and sanitary material (1.352 kg) and 211.945 kg food were brought to Vienna.
