Argentinian help
Right after end of Worldwar II Argentina organized collections. The
Argentinian relief organization for Austria under the direction of Mrs.Dr.Henryade
Schleich already submitted in the spring 1946 children's clothes,
blankets made of sheep's wool, textiles and shoes to children's hostiles and to
families in districts of Vienna, whose home was heavily damaged by bombs. Later
Argentina helped with food-aid for caritative purposes in Vienna and Lower
Austria (Niederösterreich). It is not forgotten that Argentina's diplomats
submitted a protest-note against the annexing of Austria immediately after the
invasion of Germany to Austria in March 12, 1938.
March 12,1938: Nationalsocialists open the frontier crossing point and Austria does not exist any longer.
