American Joint Distribution Commitee

This organization, directed by Mr.Joseph Silber, took care of Jewish sacrifices of the Nazi-regime. They provided Jewish institutions in Vienna with food as well as Jewish survivors from the concentration camps (KZ). They also set up a tracing service and a immigrant department. Repatriates were supported medically, a stay for undernourished and sick Jews in Semriach, Styria, was organized.
