Thank you
The Griefs, a US-band playing 60s (hey, that's so European) wrote to ViennaCC,
he should sing a Heinz Burt-song.
ViennaCC: "Well, different style. But this 60s-sound is really good. Not easy to
find, but I went to fleamarket in Vienna. There I found some old records. The
girl was selling it away. When listening to that dusty vinyl I thought: Oh, girl,
you don't know, what treasure you gave away!”
The musicians had strange artistnames: Swinging Blue Jeans, Johnny Hurricane,...
ViennaCC listened closely to the music and made a song in the sixities style.
But he combined it with new rhythms and effects.
ViennaCC: "It was very interesting to work on that song. And it was great fun
recording it, I could have played a 20-minute-version. On the long club-version
I included a short citation of my song Lady Smile. Well, Griefs, thank you for
that idea.” |

The Griefs, eine US-band, spielen 60s-Musik und schrieben ViennaCC: Hey, sing
mal so einen Heinz Burt-Song. ViennaCC: "Hmmm, irgendwie anderer Stil. Aber die
60er-Jahre, das ist echt gut. Nicht leicht zu finden, doch ich ging auf einen
Flohmarkt in Wien.
20-Minuten-Version aufnehmen. In längeren Klub-Version ist noch ein kurzes
musikalisches Zitat von "Lady Smile" inkludiert. Tjy, Griefs, danke für die
Idee!" |

It was a quick deal.
Thank you, girl, you don't know what treasure you sold away
Thank you for your e-mail
Dropping me a line
It's the way how we mail
Surely I feel fine
Thank you, but I wish that you were here
Thank you for your message
Tender words of love - uuuuh
Saved it in a folder
Always thinking of
Thank you, but I wish that you were here
Thank you, girl, for ev'rything
Thank you for your wine
Thank you that you talked to me
Surely I feel fine
Swinging with the Blue Jeans
Great what I have found
Not what I call new beans
Good old sixties sound
Thank you for this retro-sound-idea

The song comes in a short version and in a long version for club. In the
longer club-version there is
enough space for crazy DJs to rap and scratch to the song.:
